Puppy Gym (Small Breed Puppies)

Puppy Play and Obstacles

This session is for Puppies approximately 10 lbs and under.

Puppies must have received age-appropriate vaccines from a licensed veterinarian and negative fecal. Records must be provided.

This session available for FREE for any puppy enrolled in MJ's Puppy Prep Academy (Puppy classes or Private Training)

We cannot guarantee there will be puppies in each play session for the size groups every week, but the floor will be open to free play and obstacles.

Handlers will be required to remain seated during off leash play.

This session is for puppies up to 5 months unless otherwise advised by the instructor.

Puppy Play and Obstacles

This session is for puppies 10 lbs and over according to play style. Instructors may request puppies on the smaller side, join the small breed open floor time.

Puppies must have received age-appropriate vaccines from a licensed veterinarian and negative fecal. Records must be provided.

AKC Evaluations

Canine Good Citizen Test $20 per class No purchase required to enroll

You do not have to be a student to have your dog evaluated. Please review the AKC rules and regulations. No treats are to be used during the test. The fee for having your dog evaluated by an approved evaluator is a separate fee from the AKC application fee.

Trickovation®: Everyday Manners Class

A fun, game-based approach to real-life manners and obedience. Each class mixes games, reward strategies, and core skills like polite greetings, recall, loose-leash walking, and stays. Open to all levels. Dogs must be safe around people and other dogs.

Trickovation® Training


Trickovation® will change how you train and it's open to all levels. Trickovation® brings creativity and play into the process while giving you and your dog the tools to communicate clearly.


In this class, you’ll learn the foundations like reward delivery, marker cues, timing, and body language woven into games and fitness challenges that keep your dog engaged and motivated. Every session feels fresh and fun, but also builds real skills you’ll use every day.


Trickovation® is designed for dogs at any level. Whether you’re starting with the basics or looking for new ways to challenge an experienced dog, you’ll discover how training can strengthen your relationship, spark creativity, and make learning something you both look forward to.


Dogs should be friendly around other people and dogs to attend this group session.

Regular Classes

Adolescent Dog Skills (6 to 10 Months)

This class is for puppies 6 to 10 Months. You do not need to attend an evaluation before you begin.

Train your young dog how to listen around distractions and work through obedience skills in this class for puppies 6 to 10 months.

Requirements: Provide your puppy's vaccine documents and negative fecal with approval from the trainer before your first group class.



Puppy Skills Class

This class is for puppies up to 20 weeks. You do not need to attend an evaluation before you begin.

Train your puppy skills such as walking beside you on a leash, paying attention, finding their own toys instead of your shoes, and coming when called. Once you conquer all of the required topics, your puppy will earn a special achievement and be eligible to move up.


Requirements: Your puppy should be home for at least 14 days before attending class. Provide your puppy's vaccine documents and negative fecal with approval from the trainer before your first group class.



Canine Manners 1: Dog Training Foundations

Learn how to train clearly, reward effectively, and help your dog focus.

Dogs must be able to work in a group setting around other people and dogs. Please make sure to provide your dog's vaccine documents before your first class.

Obedience: Level 1.5 CGC Prep and More $35 From $21 per visit with Fifteen Classes pass Purchase required to enroll

This class is for graduates of MJ's Puppy Skills classes as well as graduates of Mastering Manners. Begin working towards your dog's Canine Good Citizen while learning and practicing additional next-level skills.

Obedience League

More challenges, distractions and obedience skills await. This class is for dogs that have completed levels 1 and 2 or have permission from the instructor due to an equivalent level of training.

Dogs should be in a flat collar or nonrestrictive harness and be able to walk politely and work around other dogs in the group setting for this class.

NEW: Rally is now offered during obedience league at various times. Contact MJ's to learn more about the next Rally season.

Scent League (Timed Searches, Games and Practice)

Practice your searches and play games. Mixed level practice class.

Canine Manners 2: Essential Manners $35 From $21 per visit with Fifteen Classes pass Purchase required to enroll

Take your dog's training to the next level.

This is a graduate level class meaning dogs and handlers should already have a strong foundation with the techniques used at MJ's by attending either Level One Foundations or a series of Puppy Skills classes.

Pre-requisites:


-Dogs must have earned a Puppy Skills or Level One Certificate or have approval from the instructor.
-Dogs must be manageable on non-restrictive equipment.
-Dogs must be safe around other dogs and people including when off leash. While dogs are not expected to interact with each other, there will be some off leash exercises.

Handling Class (Conformation) $15 per class

Prepare your dog for the show ring and fine-tune your own handling skills in this drop-in session. This is a drop-in class. Cash at the door price is $15.00. No need to register online.

Competition Obedience Run-Thru $10 No purchase required to enroll

Competition obedience run-thru with Pat Chery. $10 first run, $5 additional runs. Time slots are approximate. Additional runs may be added as time allows. Registering reserves your spot for the first run in the chosen time slot. You may register for another run in a different time slot, or request a second run in the same time slot if time allows.

Through positive, practical training, you’ll learn safe handling skills, redirection techniques, and ways to build your dog’s focus. Each class includes obedience practice, obstacle work, and controlled setups so you and your dog get plenty of hands-on experience working around other dogs.

Evaluations

Dog Grooming Consultation Free Purchase required to enroll

All new grooming clients begin with a free Grooming Consultation. Your dog will not be groomed during this visit, but after successful completion, you will be able to book your dog's grooming appointments with MJ's. A valid rabies certificate is required for this visit. Please bring treats for your dog.
